Who is APUBCC?

APUBCC is the largest student-led blockchain and crypto community in Malaysia. APUBCC strives to be the leading student hub in Malaysia that gather Web3 talents and empower students to contribute their unique skills sets and creativity to the growth of the blockchain ecosystem locally and globally. A progressive platform where students ideas are exchanged, visions are shared and projects are supported and nurtured by various methods.

What is a Hackathon?

A hackathon is an invention marathon. Hackers come together to build cool software & hardware hacks over a certain period. It's very beginner friendly.

How many members do I need to have to join?

Minimum 2, Maximum 5. You can join with 2 or more friends. (If you donā€™t have teammates, thereā€™s an available channel in Discord to look for teammates)

Do I need prior knowledge in programming to join?

This hackathon is open for every student in any field. Workshops and mentorship session will be provided as a guideline for inexperienced participants.

What are the key points that I need to look out for in order to win the bounties?

We will have workshops and mentorship sessions to share tips and strategies to increase your chances of winning the hackathon.

How many rounds of judging are there?

There will be 2 rounds, an initial submission session and a finalist judging session. Participants will first submit the required materials into Devfolio and after that all the teams that submitted will be required to pitch their project.

Will this event be physical? Should I be at APU physically to present?

Yes. Participants will need to pitch their projects physically on-campus on the final day.

Are there any technical aspects I should include in my project?

You should include a certain degree of smart contract integration within your project to satisfy the ā€œBlockchainā€ requirement of this hackathon.

How will submission be handled?

Submissions will be done through Devfolio, as all requirements.

Can I go for multiple tracks or do I only go for one track?

You can go for multiple tracks as long as the quality remains consistent.
